SINGAPORE: The professor who was stabbed by a student at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on Monday was discharged from hospital early Wednesday morning. Associate Professor Chan Kap Luk sustained injuries to his back and hand, and had been warded at the National University Hospital. Chan was attacked in his office by his 21-year-old Indonesian student David Hartanto Widjaja. The undergraduate was said to have slit his wrist thereafter and then jumped off a building in the engineering faculty. He died from injuries and his body was cremated on Tuesday. Meanwhile, his parents and elder brother who had arrived in Singapore on Monday night to help identify the body, are expected to head back to Jakarta late Wednesday. - 938Live
